The first applique sweatshirt I made, this cutie features a large patch comprised of hand dyed silk crepe, shot cotton, and a wave print scrap from a button up shirt. The patch was machine pieced, then sewn onto the sweatshirt by hand. All the fabrics together reminded me of that famous wave-crashing-into-a-lighthouse picture, Storm at La Jument Lighthouse by Jean Guichard.
